The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad has arrested a 27-year-old suspected burglar, Yusuf Ojo, while he was on his way to sell three stolen mobile phones belonging to his benefactor.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, the police disclosed that Ojo was apprehended around 5:00 am on Wednesday in Oshodi, Lagos.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ojo had broken into the home of one Michael in Iyana Iyesi, Ogun State, around midnight while the victim and his family were asleep.
Shockingly, the same day of the burglary, Michael had financially assisted Ojo by giving him money. Despite this act of kindness, Ojo proceeded to steal the phones and was heading to Mushin to sell them when he was intercepted by the police.
