Bauchi Businessman Beats Wife to Death Over Ramadan Meal Dispute

In Bauchi State, Nigeria, a tragic incident occurred involving a 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Nuru Isah, and his 24-year-old second wife, Wasila Abdullahi.

The couple reportedly had a dispute over food items intended for breaking their Ramadan fast, which escalated into violence.

According to the Bauchi State Police Command, Isah allegedly struck his wife with a cane during the altercation, leading to her collapse and subsequent death.

The incident took place near Government Girls College in the Fadaman Mada area of Bauchi on March 1, 2025. Following the assault, Wasila was transported to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her dead.

The police have arrested Isah and recovered the cane purportedly used in the assault as evidence. The Bauchi State Police Command has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, with the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, emphasizing the command’s commitment to ensuring justice.
