Apply Now: CFC Financial Support for SMEs & Women-Led Enterprises (Up to $2M in Funding)

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is now accepting applications for financial assistance aimed at strengthening commodity value chains and supporting smallholder farmers and SME-based enterprises in its member countries.

This initiative provides both financial and technical support to SMEs, cooperatives, International Commodity Bodies (ICBs), and other institutions, with a strong emphasis on businesses led by or benefiting women in agriculture.

Funding Opportunities:

  • Regular Projects: Up to $1.5 million in funding.
  • Fast-Track Projects: Up to $300,000 in funding.

The CFC primarily offers financial aid through loans and debt instruments. While standard funding limits apply, the organization may provide additional flexibility for projects demonstrating exceptional impact and strong financial viability.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Be based in one of the 101 member countries of the CFC.
  • Operate within the commodity value chain, covering areas such as production, processing, financing, marketing, and research and development.
  • Demonstrate a sustainable and positive impact on low-income populations reliant on commodities, with a particular focus on women-led enterprises and female smallholders.

The CFC prioritizes applications from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to enhance poverty reduction efforts.

Application Process:

  1. Proposal Submission: Interested applicants must submit a detailed project proposal outlining their objectives, expected impact, and financial needs.
  2. Evaluation: Proposals will be assessed based on their potential to promote sustainability, economic development, and alignment with CFC’s mission.
  3. Approval & Disbursement: Selected applicants will receive official notifications and further guidance on funding allocation and project execution.

Application Deadline:

All applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025.
